Enjoying you Tea, where to start?
Tea has been around for centuries and the art of enjoying tea can be taken to extremes, and is an art in itself. A formal tea ceremony was first mentioned in the eighth century and probably didn’t resemble the Japanese tea ceremony we know of today.
During the eighth century a Chinese Buddhist monk wrote a book
In the eighth century the first mention of a formal ceremony involving the drinking of tea is found. However, at this time, it probably didn’t look much like the tea ceremony we know these days. He wrote his book Cha Ching teaching the correct time and temperature for the preparation of tea. Subsequently it is believed that today’s tea ceremony evolved through the writing of this book.
The Tea ceremony is one way of enjoying your tea, something we haven’t experienced here yet but one we would love to try someday. We enjoy our tea all times of day and never stand upon ceremony. Tea is a comforter a relaxer, a reviver. The best cup of tea we ever enjoyed was immediately after the birth of our son. Not going into details but the reviving quality of that cup of tea made by the wonderful nursing staff was the best one ever.
I believe enjoying your tea comes from the paraphernalia one uses, we use China teacups, and a cast iron pot some people enjoy their tea in a mug. Surroundings can also effect what you drink your tea in, how it’s made, what accompaniments you have. A full English Breakfast and a mug of tea just sounds right sounds right. On the other hand a cucumber sandwich and a bone china cup of Earl Grey sounds so right to and both instances are the perfect way of enjoying your tea.
No matter how you drink yours we hope you keep enjoying your tea.
